Get Out Of The WAY!

This concept is a huge part of understanding human nature in our business.

It's what makes your mom listen to me more than she'll listen to you.

It's the reason people get paid big money for endorsements. If someone else endorses a product, we sit up and listen... and we buy.

A big part of building a large organization is sharing the product or the opportunity with others. If you understand 3rd party, you'll know that regardless of your background or credibility, you'll do much better if you aren't the "fact giver" but instead rely on a 3rd party tool.

Network Marketing Amateurs identify a prospect and then give that prospect information in a 1st party way. It other words, they are the face giver. Fact fact fact.

There are several problems with that approach:
1. What if you DON'T HAVE CREDIBILITY with the person you're talking to? If you don't, it's going to be difficult to overcome that credibility gap.

2. What about the other side? What if YOU DO HAVE CREDIBILITY with the person you're talking to and they look up to you? In that case, one of two things usually happens. Either they are intimidated by you and can't see themselves doing what you're doing, or they join and don't do anything unless you're there helping them.

3. What if you're A WOMAN TALKING TO A MAN? Are there differences between men & women? How do you bridge that gap?

4. What about a man talking to a woman? A 20-year old talking with a 50-year old? People from different cultures or races? People from different educational backgrounds?

Are you beginning to see the problems with 1st party? The chances you're going to line up perfectly with the person you're talking to so they believe and trust you without being intimidated by you are so small it's phenomenal.

1st party is the reason you see any groups look the same. They're all home-makers, or they're all from corporate backgrounds, or they're all from a certain educational background, or they're all from a blue collar background or they all come from the health care profession.

In order to build a large organization that will give you the leverage you're looking for, wouldn't it bet better to have EVERYONE available to you and everyone in your group?

Only 3rd Party can get you there.

Here's how it works...

Instead of being the "fact giver", let a 3rd party tool do that for you.

Here are some examples of what a 3rd Party Tool could be:
- Literature
- CD
- DVD
- Website
- Product
- Recorded call
- 3-way call
- Another person
- Event
- Story (even if told by you)

Here's another way to define 3rd party and that is ANYTHING THAT ISN'T YOU. If you're the fact giver, it's 1st party. If you use something or someone else to relay the facts, it's 3rd Party.

THE RULE OF 3RD PARTY.....

"If your lips are moving, you need to be pointing, reading, introducing or telling a story.

POINT to a magazine. READ them something. INTRODUCE them to another person or some other tool. Tell them a STORY about what's happened to you or someone else.

The big value of utilizing this approach is it helps you work within the formula for financial independence which is "Your ability to get a large group of people to consistently do a few simple things over a sustained period of time."

With this approach, anyone has the ability to easily talk to anyone else. The 20-year old can approach the 50-year old, as long as they point, read, introduce or tell a story, they have a chance.

The same holds true for other people who aren't super compatible.

If you're a BIG SHOT:

Resist the urge to go out there and throw your influence around. If you do, once again, one of two things will happen:
1. People will be intimidated by you and won't think they can do what you do so they don't join, or

2. They join because of your influence, but then sit back and wait for you to help them build an organization for them. Once that doesn't work, they quit.

In both cases, you don't end up with an organization that grows with or without you.

A better way for the BIG SHOT is to utilize 3rd party by not making themselves the issue and pointing, reading, introducing and telling stories. Then everyone in their group can do the same thing and they get to have some of the freedom they're looking for.

If you're NOT A BIG SHOT:

How do you overcome that? If you don't use 3rd party you have very little chance of building a large and powerful organization. It's going to be tough to recruit someone who is more successful than you are. You're going to get shot down constantly.

A better plan for the LITTLE SHOT is to utilize 3rd party by not making themselves the issue and pointing, reading, introducing or telling stories.

IN ALL CASES, YOU BECOME THE MESSENGER AND NOT THE MESSAGE.

If you insist on being the message, it will feed your ego and steal from your bank account. If you're smart and utilize 3rd party, you have to bring your ego down a notch, but you'll grow your bank account.

If someone asks you a question, EVEN IF YOU KNOW THE ANSWER, you say "Why don't we ask so and so to see what they have to say?" or "The magazine/CD/DVD can explain that better than I could" or "Let's take a look and see what it says on the website" or "let me share a story that might help answer that question for you".

It's against human nature to not give the facts directly if you know them. But you MUST develop the discipline to point, read, introduce or tell stories. It's the only way to get leverage into your business.

So, if you buy into this idea, you need to make sure you have the necessary tools at your disposal. It's so important to be prepared and to make sure the same is true for everyone in your group.

Bottom line...

Amateurs use 1st Party.

Network Marketing Professionals use 3rd Party.

The Deposit Protection Service (The DPS) has revealed that people worry most about changing their billing address when they rent a new home.

A survey found that 36% of new tenants panicked over remembering to change their phone, gas and electricity bills to their new address.

A further 29% said they lost sleep worrying about packing and unpacking, while one in five revealed that the prospect of moving furniture gave them a headache.

Kevin Firth, Client Services Director at The DPS, warns that tenants must make time to talk to their landlord or agent: “Anyone who has ever moved home knows that it’s a stressful time – one tip to give tenants peace of mind is to ensure that their landlord has signed up to a tenancy deposit protection scheme.”

Tenancy deposit legislation, which was introduced last April, requires landlords to sign up to a scheme or risk a fine of up to three times the deposit amount.

The Deposit Protection Service, the only custodial scheme, protects the tenant’s deposit on behalf of the tenant and landlord, and returns the money to whoever is entitled to it at the end of the tenancy, with interest. Landlords and tenants have already been handed back more than £2.5 million in interest.

The Daffodil Principle

The Daffodil Principle

Several times my daughter had telephoned to say, 'Mother, you must come
to see the daffodils before they are over.'' I wanted to go, but it was a
two-hour drive from Laguna to Lake Arrowhead. 'I will come next
Tuesday', I promised a little reluctantly on her third call.

Next Tuesday dawned cold and rainy. Still, I had promised, and reluctantly
I drove there. When I finally walked into Carolyn's house, I was welcomed
by the joyful sounds of happy children. I delightedly hugged and greeted
my grandchildren.

'Forget the daffodils, Carolyn! The road is invisible in these clouds and
fog, and there is nothing in the world except you and these children that
I want to see badly enough to drive another inch!'

My daughter smiled calmly and said, 'We drive in this all the time,
Mother.'

'Well, you won't get me back on the road until it clears, and then I'm
heading for home!' I assured her.

'But first we're going to see the daffodils. It's just a few blocks,'
Carolyn said. 'I'll drive. I'm used to this.'

'Carolyn,' I said sternly, 'Please turn around.'

'It's all right, Mother, I promise. You will never forgive yourself if you
miss this experience.'

After about twenty minutes, we turned onto a small gravel road and I saw a
small church. On the far side of the church, I saw a hand lettered sign
with an arrow that read, 'Daffodil Garden.' We got out of the car, each
took a child's hand, and I followed Carolyn down the path. Then, as we
turned a corner, I looked up and gasped. Before me lay the most glorious
sight.

It looked as though someone had taken a great vat of gold and poured it
over the mountain peak and its surrounding slopes. The flowers were
planted in majestic, swirling patterns, great ribbons and swaths of deep
orange, creamy white, lemon yellow, salmon pink, saffron and butter
yellow. Each different-colored variety was planted in large groups so that
it swirled and flowed like its own river with its own unique hue. There
were five acres of flowers.

'Who did this?' I asked Carolyn.

'Just one woman,' Carolyn answered. 'She lives on the property. That's her
home.' Carolyn pointed to a well-kept A-frame house, small and modestly
sitting in the midst of all that glory. We walked up to the house.

On the patio, we saw a poster. 'Answers to the Questions I Know You Are
Asking', was the headline. The first answer was a simple one. '50,000
bulbs,' it read. The second answer was, 'One at a time, by one woman. Two
hands, two feet, and one brain.' The third answer was, 'Began in 1958.'
For me, that moment was a life-changing experience. I thought of this
woman whom I had never met, who, more than forty years before, had begun,
one bulb at a time, to bring her vision of beauty and joy to an obscure
mountaintop.
Planting one bulb at a time, year after year, this unknown woman had
forever changed the world in which she lived. One day at a time, she had
created something of extraordinary magnificence, beauty, and inspiration.
The principle her daffodil garden taught is one of the greatest principles
of celebration.

That is, learning to move toward our goals and desires one step at a time,
often just one baby-step at a time and learning to love the doing,
learning to use the accumulation of time. When we multiply tiny pieces of
time with small increments of daily effort, we too will find we can
accomplish magnificent things. We can change the world ?br>
'It makes me sad in a way,' I admitted to Carolyn. 'What might I have
accomplished if I had thought of a wonderful goal thirty five or forty
years ago and had worked away at it 'one bulb at a time' through all those
years? 'Just think what I might have been able to achieve!'

My daughter summed up the message of the day in her usual direct way.
'Start tomorrow,' she said.

She was right. It's so pointless to think of the lost hours of yesterdays.
The way to make learning a lesson of celebration instead of a cause for
regret is to only ask, 'How can I put this to use today?'

Use the Daffodil Principle. Stop waiting.....
Until your car or home is paid off
Until you get a new car or home
Until your kids leave the house
Until you go back to school
Until you finish school
Until you clean the house
Until you organize the garage
Until you clean off your desk
Until you lose 10 lbs.
Until you gain 10 lbs.
Until you get married
Until you get a divorce
Until you have kids
Until the kids go to school
Until you retire
Until summer
Until spring
Until winter
Until fall
Until you die...

There is no better time than right now to be happy. Happiness is a
journey, not a destination.

So work like you don't need money. Love like
you've never been hurt, and dance like no one's watching.

Wishing you a beautiful, daffodil day!

Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never
begin.

That Sinking Feeling

We aren’t in a recession, as economists would technically define it ( shrinking for economic growth six consecutive months) but I’m sure you’ll be feeling as if you’re in one. Suddenly, over the past few weeks, it seems as if the whole economy has slowed down and the dawning realisation of what a high oil price means is beginning to sink in. People are seeing more and more of their bills rise and are really feeling the effects of the credit crunch.

As a barometer of our shopping crazed economy, the British Retail Consortium usually presents a canny snapshot of what the national psyche is up to. Thus it’s a bit depressing to read in its latest consumer confidence survey that two thirds of Britons believe the country is in recession. One in five said that the economy was their biggest worry, and high interest rates, and presumably their debt, was the next biggest concern.

And during a slowdown like this one, more than half said that inflation was their main fear.

So last week’s decision by the Bank of England not to cut the interest rate will have ‘pleased’ these worriers. Although, as I said last week, it will be interesting to see how the Monetary Policy Committee manages to resist pressure to lower the base rate as the economy slows, as it surely will.

In fact, the profligacy of Labour’s loose fiscal stance , and the Bank’s almost impossible task of trying to reign in inflation while the economy slows is unprecedented and very dangerous territory. Add to that the very public tussling over the appointment of a new Deputy Governor. This is not a time for a central bank and one of the key guardians of the economy to have a vacancy on the bridge.

Most People Do Network Marketing Every Day - Just Don't Get Paid For It!

Here are some examples:

• Recommending a school for the children.
• Recommending a pub with a great atmosphere.
• Recommending a favourite song or artist.
• Recommending a blind date.
• Recommending a brand of car.
• Recommending your favourite dish or recipe.
• Recommending a stock or an investment.
• Recommending a solicitor or an accountant.
• Recommending a dentist.
• Recommending your favourite television show.
• Recommending a weight loss secret.
• Recommending a great clothes shop.
• Recommending a church.
• Recommending some new friends.
• Recommending computer software.
• Recommending a good book.

These are all examples of network marketing in action. You recommend the things and services that you like. The person is under no obligation to accept your recommendations.

Your only job is to educate and present additional choices or options for the person. Your job is not to make the decision for the person. That's the person's right and responsibility. It is your responsibility to give the person an opportunity to learn this information.

However, you are not responsible for the decisions people make after hearing this information.

The person has many variables and situations in his life that he must balance along with your recommendations. Respect that. The person will make a decision based upon what is happening in his life, so don't feel offended if a person uses a different dentist because his brother-in-law just graduated after studying to be a dentist. Or, don't take it personally if the person doesn't go to the restaurant that you like. He may have completely different tastes in food.

So, how do I get paid for this?

In all the previous networking examples, you did the work. You just didn't get paid for it.

How To Build A Successful Business In Three Easy Steps

Leverage is King

In the Network Marketing / Multi Level marketing industry "Leverage" is KING.

Here's what I mean; we all have the same 24 hours in a day so let's apply the principle of leverage here in a typical 24 hour day of the life of an MLM person. Imagine that in the course of the 24 hours you can achieve quite a lot of things; you can have many telephone calls to prospects, you can have many personal face-to-face meetings, you can attend some business presentations and seminars, and of course you can read an informative book or listen to a CD or view a DVD that can give you greater knowledge.

Now, let's assume that you have just introduced your company, products and business opportunity to a friend who joins your team. Well, now you have 2 people who each have 24 hours, so together you have 48 hours.

OK, let's now introduce 2 more people into this mix, someone you introduced and someone your friend introduced to this new team. Well, you now have 4 people each having 24 hours available for a total of 96 hours. Can you imagine how much can be accomplished during those 96 hours?

That's called LEVERAGE; you are using the principle of leverage of "time". Instead of being limited to what YOU alone can accomplish in 24 hours, now there are 4 people who can accomplish so much more. When you apply that to conducting business, be it for meetings, presentations or even "sales", you've now got leverage on your side!

Hey, that's only 4 people; what if it was 20 people? Imagine the possibilities that can be achieved in that leveraged time.

The Network Marketing business model is so powerful and unique because of this concept of leverage because you can leverage your time and benefit from a percentage of other people's efforts that are on your team, obviously this can substantially increase your potential income result.

Imagine when you have a HUGE team and you're earning a small percentage on everyone in your team! Can you imagine receiving a percentage of everyone in your team's productivity?

WOW; that is powerful! That's the power of MLM Leverage.
